What to Bring

All accommodations in the main Lodge, the Safari-Style Tents, and the High Country Cabin REQUIRE indoor-only footwear that have not been worn outside. The protocol is the outdoor footwear is removed at the door and indoor-only fo0twear donned to enter the accommodation...then the reverse upon exit of the accommodation.

FLY FISHING EQUIPMENT
Here's a list of what to bring for all your fly fishing adventures.
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Rain jacket
  • Gloves (early/late season)
  • Long sleeved shirts
  • Puffy down vest or jacket
  • Quick dry shorts/long pants
  • Warm, long pants to be worn under waders
  • Dry bag for carrying personal items
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera
Everything you need for a day of fishing, including rod, reel, boots, waders, flies, and end tackle, is included in your package. If you would like to bring your own gear the following is what we recommend for our area:
  • Fly rods (primary rod 9’ 5 or 6 wt – medium/fast action)
    • Secondary rod options 9’ 4 wt – good for smaller tributaries
  • Reels and fly lines (appropriate weight to match rods – floating)
  • Orvis breathable waders
  • Felt or rubber soled wading boots. Felt boots are not allowed in Yellowstone National Park, but may be a good idea for certain stretches of other rivers.

CLOTHING TO CONSIDER
Our temperatures vary widely during the seasons and can change in a very short period of time. It is not surprising to see a front push temperatures down 50 degrees in minutes, so we recommend you come prepared. It's all about dressing in layers so you are comfortable throughout the day and changing temperatures.
  • Indoor-Only footwear for donning inside all accommodations on property.
  • Casual attire is acceptable at the ranch for all occasions
  • Blue jeans, shorts, etc.
  • Boots for hiking if you like
  • Warm jacket for the cool mornings/evenings
  • Hat
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Light-weight, long sleeve shirts are suggested for sun protection
